Our Journey
After dedicating 30 years to a career in mainstream education, I felt it was time for a change—one that would allow me to combine my professional experience with my deep love for animals. My journey began years ago in a veterinary hospital, where I developed a strong foundation in animal care. This, paired with a lifelong passion for dogs and other animals, inspired me to create Woody Woods Pet Services in 2018. The business is named in honor of “Woody,” one of my cherished rescued Flatcoated Retrievers, whose spirit of love and loyalty we strive to reflect in our care for every dog.

Our Philosophy
At Woody Woods Pet Services, we don’t just care for dogs—we welcome them into our family. Every dog is unique, with its own personality, preferences, and needs. We take the time to get to know each dog individually, providing personalized care to ensure they feel comfortable, secure, and loved during their stay with us.

Our Home
Our home is your dog’s home away from home. Set in Shepshed  our property offers a stimulating and secure environment where dogs can relax, play, and explore. We have a spacious, fenced garden with double gates, providing a safe area for dogs to run and play freely. For those who love to explore, we offer daily countryside walks, allowing them to stretch their legs and enjoy the fresh air.

Inside, our home is warm and welcoming, with plenty of space for dogs to lounge and make themselves comfortable. They can choose to rest in one of our cozy armchairs, on the sofa (if allowed), or in one of the many comfortable dog beds we provide. Whether they prefer the quiet of the conservatory, the comfort of the living room, or the coziness of a bedroom, there’s a spot for every dog to feel at ease.

Our Services

• Doggy Day Care: We offer a reliable and professional day care service, providing a structured day filled with fun, exercise, and relaxation. We understand the growing need for trustworthy day care, especially in today’s busy world, and we’re here to give you peace of mind while you’re away.

• Home Boarding: For longer stays, we offer home boarding that’s truly a home from home. We limit the number of dogs we board to ensure each one receives the individual attention they deserve. Our home boarding service is ideal for holidays, with spaces limited to maintain our high standards of care.

Bespoke Dog Grooming Services
In addition to boarding and day care, Sandra of Woody Woods offers bespoke dog grooming services. Fully qualified with distinctions, I provide a one-to-one grooming experience to ensure your dog receives the time and attention they deserve, building a bond of trust in the process.

Grooming Qualifications include:

• City & Guilds Level 2 Dog Grooming
• City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Professional Dog Grooming

My training took three years to complete at Brooksby Melton College, including extensive salon experience. Grooming is an essential part of dog health and well-being, and it’s crucial that it’s carried out properly by a qualified groomer. I groom one dog at a time, allowing me to build a relationship with each dog and ensuring they go home happy and stress-free. This kinder approach makes grooming a positive experience for your dog.

Home boarding fits perfectly with grooming services, so dogs can be pampered and groomed before returning home fresh and clean.
